About SpeedFerries
SpeedFerries is the new cross channel ferry company sailing between Dover on the south east coast of England and Boulogne in Northern France, providing a high-speed, low cost alternative to the Dover Calais route.
SpeedFerries offers the fastest and most direct ferry route from Britain to France on the all year Dover-Boulogne service.
The combination of the fastest ferry crossing - just 50 minutes - and the auto link road from the A16 motorway leading direct to the Port of Boulogne and connecting SpeedFerries customers to the entire French motorway system, makes SpeedFerries an optimal and convenient gateway for trips between Britain and the Continent.
SpeedFerries Route from Dover to Boulogne is a cars-only service and vehicles accepted onboard SpeedOne must be self-propelled by conventional means.
Cars, minivans and smaller motorhomes can be accommodated as long as they fall within the overall limitations on height (2,9 m), width (2,0 m) and length (7,0 m), which are given by the configuration of the car deck and ramps and a tight sailing schedule. Basically for the same reasons SpeedFerries is unable to take caravans and coaches.
When booking a crossing with SpeedFerries you are asked to select a vehicle type, which depends on the overall size of the vehicle and the number of passengers travelling in your vehicle. Overloaded vehicles will not be accepted for travel.

Speed Ferries all year round fast ferry service offers up to 5 return sailings daily between Dover and Boulogne with a crossing time of just 50 minutes.
Speed Ferries Fight The Pirates
SpeedFerries introduced its “Fight the Pirates” campaign following a very difficult entry into the cross-Channel ferry market. After the opening of the Dover-Boulogne route on the 19 May 2004, SpeedFerries realized that the concept of a low cost ferry service, introducing low cost airline styled pricing to the ferry market, was so unpopular within the industry that SpeedFerries found itself in an extremely hostile market.
Strong support by loyal customers during the start up period and SpeedFerries' determination to "Fight the Pirates", saved the company and secured the success of the Dover-Boulogne fast ferry service – a service which resulted in a 50 percent reduction of the average sales price of car tickets on the Dover Straits, thereby benefiting all Cross-Channel travellers.
After two years of operation SpeedFerries has obtained 12% of the passenger vehicle market and reached its original objective of delivering a “50 percent cheaper, 50 percent faster product” to cross-Channel travellers. SpeedFerries won “Best European Crossing Operator” award in 2005 at the Telegraph Travel Awards just 18 months after the service was launched in May 2004.
SpeedFerries continues its commitment of offering cross-Channel prices at an acceptable level whilst providing a high quality, low cost fast ferry service.
