Closer to Asia than Sydney, Darwin is set upon one of Australia's prettiest harbours, opening out onto the brilliant, jewel-like waters of the Arafura Sea. This vibrant tropical city is a real melting pot of cultures offering a whole host of cosmopolitan attractions for you to enjoy.
Much of the city's activity is based around the magnificent harbour (twice the size of Sydney's) with superb dining, friendly cafés and a selection of water sports available. For a taste of the city's rich history, perhaps take a boat trip to discover a number of nearby sunken wrecks from World War II, or visit the Museum & Art Gallery of the Northern Territory where you can admire a wonderful collection of Aboriginal Art.
