Follow in the footsteps of the stars and visit some of the stunning locations used in the recent film adaptation of Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’.
The highlight of this glorious getaway will be the centuries old Chatsworth House, where the exterior and rooms (including the sculpture room) were used to depict Pemberley – the Derbyshire mansion belonging to the film’s hero Mr Darcy. Included entrance to the house enables you to marvel at its 30 glorious rooms filled with paintings, furniture, silver, tapestries, porcelain and many more treasures. Then stroll the vast gardens described by Alan Titchmarsh as “…one of the best and most vibrant gardens in Britain” and discover the fountains, streams, formal hedges, shrubs and hidden alcoves of the stately house which has become a silver screen sensation.
We then travel to Derbyshire to discover Bakewell, home of the famous Bakewell Pudding. Wander around the unspoilt town with its cluster of shops and riverside walks and discover what makes Bakewell one of the prettiest market towns in England. After your explorations be sure to visit one of the many cafés and bakeries where you can sample some of the famous Bakewell Pudding, or simply relax and watch the world go by.
